  • 4 tsp. onion powder
  • 1 Tbsp. Chicken-Like Seasoning
  • 1 c. raw cashews
  • 1 tsp. vegie-sal
  • 1/4 c. cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Blend all ingredients in a blender until smooth.
  2. Mix thoroughly all ingredients and serve.

Tips & Substitutions

For a creamier texture, soak the raw cashews in water for a few hours before blending. If you need a nut-free alternative, try using silken tofu instead of cashews. The Chicken-Like Seasoning can be substituted with nutritional yeast for a vegan version. Adjust the onion powder to taste, or add garlic powder for extra flavor.

Serving Suggestions

This versatile white sauce can be used as a base for gravies or as a creamy dressing for pasta dishes. It pairs beautifully with Asopado Puertorrigueno(Soup) or can be drizzled over roasted vegetables. Consider using it in place of traditional sauces in dishes like mock turkey or stuffing for a delicious twist.

Storage & Reheating

Store any leftover white sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. When reheating, gently warm it on the stove over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent separation. If it thickens too much, add a splash of water or vegetable broth to achieve the desired consistency.
