Ingredients

  • 1 can diced beets, drained
  • 1 can pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1 Tbsp. vinegar
  • 1 Tbsp. sugar

Instructions

  1. Combine the juice from the canned beets and pineapple and bring to a boil.
  2. Dissolve the cornstarch in cold water.
  3. Add the cornstarch mixture, butter, vinegar, and sugar to the boiling juice.
  4. Cook, stirring constantly to prevent scorching, until the mixture thickens.
  5. Add the drained beets and pineapple tidbits and cook briefly to heat through.
  6. Serve hot.
