Ingredients

  • 1 (6 oz.) package wild rice
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 cups chopped apple
  • 2 Tbsp packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup sliced celery
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 1/2 cups water

Instructions

  1. Place the contents of the rice and seasoning packets in a 2‑quart casserole.
  2. Melt the butter.
  3. Add the chopped apples and sprinkle with brown sugar.
  4. Cook until the apples are lightly glazed.
  5. Add the celery, raisins, and water.
  6. Bring to a boil.
  7. Pour over the rice, stir, and cover. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.
  8. Uncover, stir, and bake, uncovered, for 5 more minutes.
  9. Serve warm, yielding about 6 to 8 servings.
