Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups beets (No. 2 can, whole preferred)
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup beet juice or water
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Drain the beets, reserving the liquid.
  2. Combine sugar and cornstarch in a saucepan.
  3. Stir in vinegar and beet juice or water.
  4. Cook over low heat until thickened.
  5. Add the beets and butter, then heat through before serving.
