Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 stick margarine
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Beat eggs and sugar together until well combined.
  2. Add milk, melted margarine, sifted flour, and baking powder to the mixture.
  3. Mix all ingredients until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into a small Bundt pan and bake at 350°F until golden brown.
  5. Allow the cake to cool and then remove from the pan.
  6. Prepare a syrup by boiling 1 cup sugar with 1 1/4 cups water until clear.
  7. Pour the hot syrup over the cooled cake a little at a time, allowing it to sink in.
  8. Before serving, optionally pour wine or rum over the cake and serve with whipped cream.
  9. Enjoy with fresh fruit for an extra touch.
