Ingredients

  • 2 lb. ground beef
  • salt to taste
  • pepper to taste
  • 1/4 c. chopped onion
  • 2 cans tomato soup
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (16 oz.) pkg. egg noodles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Brown ground beef in a skillet; season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Add chopped onion to the beef and cook until soft.
  4. Drain excess fat from the beef mixture.
  5. Stir in tomato soup and cook thoroughly.
  6. Cook egg noodles according to package instructions, then drain.
  7. Layer cooked noodles in a baking dish, top with sliced American cheese, and pour the beef mixture over.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is melted and bubbly, about 20 minutes.
