Zesty Beef Dip

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1/2 c. chopped onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. catsup
  • 1 1/4 tsp. dried oregano leaves, crushed
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 pkg. (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 c. grated Parmesan cheese
  • chopped parsley
  • dipping chips or crackers
  • milk (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a 10-inch skillet, crumble beef.
  2. Add onion and garlic. Over medium-high heat, cook and stir for 5 minutes or until meat is lightly browned and onion is tender.
  3. Drain off fat.
  4. Stir in tomato sauce, catsup, oregano, sugar, pepper and salt.
  5. Bring to a boil; reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
