Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops, well trimmed
  • 2 apples, cored and halved
  • 1 onion, cut in 4 thick slices
  • 2 medium yams, cut in half
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Mix brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, and soy sauce together to make the sauce.
  2. Quickly brown the pork chops on both sides in a deep skillet.
  3. Place an onion slice, an apple half, and a yam half on top of each pork chop.
  4. Pour the sauce over the pork chops and vegetables.
  5. Cover with a lid and cook on low heat on the stove or bake at 325°F (160°C) in the oven for 1 hour.
  6. Optional: add raisins before cooking if desired.
