A tangy, sweet vegetable slaw with cabbage, onion, and bell pepper, dressed in a vinegar and oil mixture, perfect as a side or picnic dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 bell pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. celery seed
  • 1 Tbsp. salt
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup oil
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop cabbage, onion, and bell pepper.
  2. Sprinkle sugar over the chopped mixture.
  3. Bring vinegar, oil, salt, and celery seed to a boil; pour over the vegetable mixture and stir well.
  4. Refrigerate overnight before serving.
