Ingredients

  • 1/4 lb. butter
  • 1 pt. heavy cream
  • 1 pt. milk
  • 1 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 tsp. basil
  • 1 tsp. chicken base
  • 3/4 tsp. white pepper
  • cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large pan.
  2. Bring the heavy cream and milk to a boil.
  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients except cornstarch together and add to the boiling mixture.
  4. Whisk the mixture thoroughly.
  5. Be careful as the mixture burns easily.
  6. Thicken the sauce with cornstarch.
  7. Serve over hot fettucine.
