- Cream butter, sugar, brown sugar, egg, vanilla, and flour together until well mixed.
- Spread the dough evenly in a 10 x 14-inch pan.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 to 20 minutes until golden.
- Remove from oven and break the chocolate bars into sections; place on top of the hot crust.
- Return to the oven with the heat turned off and leave for a few minutes to soften the chocolate.
- Spread the softened chocolate evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the finely chopped almonds on top.
- Allow to cool completely, then cut into squares.
