Ingredients

  • 1 lb. butter or margarine
  • 2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
  • 1 lb. melted chocolate
  • 4 Tbsp. water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 lb. almonds, cut
  • chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Put butter in a skillet and heat until bubbly but not brown.
  2. Add powdered sugar, water, almonds, and chopped walnuts; cook over hot heat, stirring constantly until almonds are toasted and sugar is light medium brown.
  3. Pour the mixture into two buttered 10x15-inch pans. Cool and spread with half the melted chocolate.
  4. Sprinkle with ground walnuts and let the chocolate harden.
  5. Turn the candy over and repeat the process on the other side.
  6. Break into pieces before serving.
