Tips & Substitutions

For added flavor, consider incorporating garlic or nutmeg while sautéing the vegetables. If you're out of chicken bouillon, vegetable broth can be a great substitute. You can also replace slivered almonds with walnuts or pecans for a different nutty flavor. This casserole is versatile, so feel free to add in some cooked chicken for a heartier dish, similar to Turkey Rice Casserole.
