Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 teaspoons confectioners sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts

Instructions

  1. Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl.
  2. Add the shortening, confectioners sugar, flour, salt, brown sugar, additional flour, baking powder, coconut, and chopped nuts to the eggs and mix well.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased or parchment-lined baking pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
  5. Allow to cool, then cut into squares like brownies.
