Ingredients

  • 1 cup regular milk
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 (32 oz.) can pumpkin
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 stick butter or margarine
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine the milk, eggs, pumpkin, sugar, and pumpkin pie spice in a large bowl and mix well.
  2. Pour the mixture into a large buttered 9 x 13-inch pan.
  3. Cut the butter or margarine into the dry cake mix until it resembles coarse cornmeal.
  4. Sprinkle or spread the crumb mixture over the pumpkin mixture.
  5. Top with walnuts, if using.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour, until a knife inserted in the center comes out dry.
