Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup oleo
  • 2 twists vermicelli
  • 1 small can mushrooms
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 cup rice
  • 1 can consomme
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 cups hot water

Instructions

  1. Melt the oleo in a pan; break the vermicelli into the oleo and brown them.
  2. Add rice, mushrooms, chopped onion, consomme, salt, and pepper. Add 1 cup of water.
  3. Cover and cook, stirring as necessary, for 20 minutes or until almost dry.
  4. Add the remaining cup of water and simmer until dry, about 30 minutes.
