Ingredients

  • 3 c. unsifted flour
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 c. real mayonnaise
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cloves
  • 3 c. chopped, peeled apples
  • 1 c. raisins
  • 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the unsifted flour, sugar, baking soda, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and ground cloves.
  3. Add the mayonnaise, milk, and eggs to the dry ingredients and mix until well blended.
  4. Fold in the chopped, peeled apples, raisins, and chopped walnuts.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased 9-inch (23 cm) baking pan.
  6. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
