Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 c. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 tsp. almond extract
  • 1 tsp. anise oil
  • 2 Tbsp. anise seed
  • 4 c. flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 c. almonds, chopped

Instructions

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  3. Stir in the vanilla, almond extract, anise oil, and anise seeds.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  5. Make a well in the center of the dry ingredients and pour in the wet mixture.
  6. Mix until all the flour is incorporated.
