- Grease and flour a 9 x 5-inch loaf pan.
- Beat together the softened butter or margarine, sugar, and eggs until well combined.
- Stir in the applesauce.
- Add the dry ingredients — flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt — and mix only until blended.
- Gently fold in the blueberries.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, spreading evenly.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 55 to 60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes.
- Remove from the pan and cool completely before slicing.
