Ingredients

  • 3 cups flour
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 to 10 apples, peeled, cored, and sliced finely

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix milk, beaten eggs, salt, and sugar.
  2. Gradually stir in flour until the batter is smooth.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of batter into boiling water, including a small piece of apple in each.
  4. Cook until the batter is cooked through; test by cutting one open to check doneness.
  5. Serve hot with melted butter drizzled on top.
