Ingredients

  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 (16 or 18 oz.) cans yams or sweet potatoes, drained
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 2 cups mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Toss sliced apples with brown sugar, chopped pecans, and cinnamon.
  3. Alternate layers of apple mixture and drained yams in a 9-inch square baking pan.
  4. Dot the layered mixture with butter or margarine.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 35 to 45 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle mini marshmallows over the top and yams, then broil until lightly brown.
