Ingredients

  • 2 tsp butter
  • 1 1/2 lb ground chuck
  • 2 c chopped onions
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 2 (8 oz) cans tomato sauce
  • 1 (6 oz) can mushrooms undrained
  • 1/2 lb elbow macaroni
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 2 Tbsp salt
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sugar
  • 4 drops Tabasco sauce
  • 1/2 lb Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground chuck and chopped onions in butter in a frying pan.
  2. Add minced garlic to the meat mixture and cook for another minute.
  3. Mix in tomato sauce, undrained mushrooms, chili powder, salt, Worcestershire sauce, red wine vinegar, pepper, sugar, and Tabasco sauce.
  4. Cook and drain the elbow macaroni separately.
  5. Combine the cooked macaroni with the meat mixture and cook all ingredients together in the frying pan for about 1 hour.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a large serving dish.
  7. Arrange triangles of cheddar cheese on top of the dish before serving.
