Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup applesauce or apple butter
  • 1 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 cup raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cream margarine and sugar for 2 minutes until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg and applesauce, then beat well.
  3. Combine dry ingredients and add to the wet mixture.
  4. Stir in raisins and nuts, if desired.
  5. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 20 minutes or until done.
