Apple Sour Cream Ring
A delightful apple sour cream ring featuring tender sliced apples, crunchy walnuts, and a moist, flavorful batter. Perfect for brunch, dessert, or special gatherings.

- Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9-inch tube pan.
- In a small bowl, combine chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and 1/2 cup sugar; set aside.
- Thinly slice the apples and set aside.
- In a mixing bowl, beat oleo (butter or margarine) with 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add flour, sour cream, eggs, baking powder, soda, and vanilla. Beat at low speed until blended. Scrape the bowl constantly.
- Increase speed to medium and beat for 3 minutes.
- Spread half of the batter in the prepared pan.
- Sprinkle with one-third of the nut mixture, then layer with sliced apples, and sprinkle with another one-third of the nut mixture.
- Spread the remaining batter over the top.
- Sprinkle with the remaining nut mixture.
- Bake for 55 to 60 minutes.
- Cool in the pan on a wire rack before serving.
