Ingredients

  • 16 oz frozen bread dough
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp flour

Instructions

  1. Thaw frozen bread dough according to package directions. 20-30 minutes.
  2. Divide dough in half and let rest 10 minutes.
  3. On a floured surface roll each dough half into an 8"×8" square.
  4. Spread each square with 1 tablespoon of softened butter.
  5. Arrange half the apples down the center of each dough square.
  6. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over apples.
  7. Cut toward the filling, making 2"-long cuts in the dough at 1" intervals on both sides of the apples.
  8. Fold the strips alternately over the apples and then fold under the ends of the loaf to seal.
  9. Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
