Apple Topped Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 6 pork loin chops, 3/4-inch thick
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 2 red tart apples, unpeeled
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • 1/4 cup honey

Instructions

  1. Brown the pork chops in a skillet, then transfer them to a baking pan.
  2. Season the chops with salt and pepper.
  3. Core and slice the unpeeled apples into 1/2-inch rings.
  4. Add butter to the skillet used for browning the chops and sauté the apple rings until tender.
  5. Place one apple ring on each pork chop.
  6. Cover the baking pan and bake at 300°F for 30 minutes.
  7. Drizzle honey over the apples and pork chops.
  8. Baste the chops with the drippings from the skillet.
  9. Cover and bake for another 15 minutes or until done.
  10. Before serving, place a cherry in the center of each apple ring.
