Apple Walnut Dessert

Ingredients

  • 3/4 c. sifted cake flour
  • 1 c. light brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • dash of mace
  • dash of cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 1/2 c. chopped tart apples
  • 3/4 c. chopped walnuts

Instructions

  1. Mix first 6 ingredients; stir into unbeaten egg and vanilla. Fold in apples and walnuts.
  2. Turn into a well-greased 9-inch pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until brown and crusty. Garnish with whipped cream; sprinkle with cinnamon or top with scoops of vanilla ice cream.
