Ingredients

  • 1 package marble cake mix
  • 3/4 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Beat the cake mix (reserve marbling pieces), applesauce, water, oil, and eggs together.
  3. Pour 1 1/2 cups of batter into a small bowl; add the marbling package and beat.
  4. Pour the yellow batter into the prepared pan.
  5. Drop mounds of the chocolate mixture on top of the batter and marble with a knife or skewer.
  6. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture on top of the batter.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 33 to 38 minutes.
  9. Cool completely before serving. Serve with Cool Whip or additional applesauce.
