Ingredients

  • 1 cup applesauce
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 3/4 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup raisins

Instructions

  1. Mix applesauce, oil, and sugar in a bowl.
  2. Add the slightly beaten egg and raisins to the mixture.
  3. Combine the dry ingredients: sifted flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into a greased and floured loaf pan.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool slightly before removing from the pan and serving.
