Ingredients

  • 2 sticks margarine or butter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 3/4 cup chopped nuts (pecans or walnuts)
  • 1 (10 oz.) jar apricot jam

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the margarine or butter with sugar until creamy.
  3. Add the egg yolk and mix well.
  4. Combine the flour and chopped nuts, then gradually add to the butter mixture, mixing until crumbly.
  5. Press half of the crumb mixture into the bottom of a greased baking pan.
  6. Spread the apricot jam evenly over the crust.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining crumb mixture over the jam layer.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.
