Ingredients

  • 1 2/3 cups flour
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/3 cup soft shortening (Crisco)
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1 cup canned or cooked pumpkin
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Cream the sugar and egg together.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Pour the batter into a greased Bundt cake pan.
  4. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 45 to 50 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
