Ingredients

  • 2 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 3/4 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 c. cocoa (unsweetened)
  • 1 c. hot coffee
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 c. boiling water

Instructions

  1. Mix together in one bowl: flour, salt, sugar, cocoa, shortening, eggs, baking soda, hot coffee, and boiling water.
  2. Pour the batter into a greased and floured tube or Bundt pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 40 to 45 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
