Bacon Bats are crispy, savory appetizers featuring bacon, cheese, and onion, perfect for kids' parties or casual gatherings, offering a delightful combination of smoky and cheesy flavors.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb bacon
  • 1 lb sharp cheese
  • 1 large onion
  • 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • bread slices

Instructions

  1. Grind or crumble bacon, cheese, and onion together; stir in seasonings.
  2. Toast bread on one side under the broiler.
  3. Spread the untoasted side of the bread with the filling.
  4. Cut the bread into any desired shape.
  5. Arrange the bread on a cookie sheet.
  6. Place the sheet under the broiler until bubbly and brown.
  7. Serve immediately.
  8. These can be spread in advance and broiled before serving.
  9. They make fine open-faced sandwiches for children.
  10. They freeze well.
