- Combine margarine, brown sugar, light Karo syrup, and salt in a microwave-safe bowl and bring to a boil for 2 minutes.
- Place the popped popcorn in a large brown grocery bag.
- Pour the hot caramel syrup over the popcorn inside the bag.
- Fold the top of the bag shut and shake to coat the popcorn evenly.
- Microwave the bag for 1 1/2 minutes, then shake.
- Repeat the microwave and shake process two more times for a total of three sessions.
- Open the bag and let the caramel corn cool on the bag or a cookie sheet before serving.
