Ingredients

  • 6 cups sliced celery
  • 5 oz sliced water chestnuts
  • 1/4 cup chopped pimentos
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1/4 cup slivered almonds
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup bread crumbs

Instructions

  1. Cook the sliced celery in salted water for 8 minutes.
  2. Drain the cooked celery.
  3. Mix the drained celery, sliced water chestnuts, chopped pimentos, and cream of chicken soup in a bowl.
  4. Place the mixture into a buttered 2-quart casserole dish.
  5. Melt the butter.
  6. Pour the melted butter over the bread crumbs.
  7. Add slivered almonds to the bread crumbs and sprinkle over the casserole.
  8. Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes until golden and bubbly.
