Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup butter or oleo, melted
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple, drained
  • 6 white bread slices
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Combine melted butter, brown sugar, and drained crushed pineapple in a bowl.
  2. Spread the pineapple mixture evenly on the bottom of a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  3. Place the slices of white bread on top of the pineapple mixture.
  4. Beat eggs, milk, and salt together in a separate bowl.
  5. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread slices.
  6. Bake uncovered at 325°F (160°C) for 25 minutes.
  7. Allow to cool slightly after baking.
  8. Invert the baking dish onto a heated serving platter to serve.
