  • 2/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 3 1/2 tablespoons rum
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract

  • 3 bananas, peeled and sliced lengthwise and crosswise
  • 1/4 cup coarsely chopped walnuts
  • 1 pint vanilla ice cream

Instructions

  1. In a large, deep skillet over medium heat, melt the butter.
  2. Stir in the dark brown sugar, rum, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon.
  3. When the mixture begins to bubble, add the peeled and sliced bananas along with the chopped walnuts.
  4. Cook until the bananas are hot, about 1 to 2 minutes.
  5. Serve immediately over vanilla ice cream.
