Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup biscuits

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef or turkey in a skillet and drain excess fat.
  2. Add chopped onions and brown sugar; cook for about 2 minutes.
  3. Stir in barbecue sauce and heat through; remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Open biscuits and flatten each with your hand.
  5. Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray and place one biscuit in each cup, pressing gently to form a cup.
  6. Fill each biscuit cup with the meat mixture.
  7. Bake at 350° to 400° Fahrenheit until biscuits are golden and cooked through.
  8. Remove from oven and top each with shredded Cheddar cheese.
  9. Return to oven on broil until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Use a knife to carefully remove each pocket from the pan.
