Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups cake flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup margarine or butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 eggs

Instructions

  1. Cream sugar and butter until smooth and fluffy.
  2. Mix dry ingredients together; add to the creamed mixture.
  3. Beat for 2 minutes at low speed for the first 1/2 minute.
  4. Add flour mixture a little at a time; then add milk, vanilla, and 1 egg; beat for 2 minutes.
  5. Stop mixer, add 3 eggs, and beat for 1 minute at low speed.
  6. Pour batter into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch or 8 x 8 x 2-inch pan; spread evenly.
  7. Bake at 350°F until done.
  8. Spread with favorite frosting or Creamy Deluxe Cream Cheese Frosting.
