Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter and sugar.
  2. Add the egg and beat until smooth and fluffy.
  3. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the flour mixture and milk alternately to the creamed mixture.
  6. Chill dough until easy to handle.
  7. Roll out to desired thickness on a lightly floured board.
  8. Cut with cookie cutter.
  9. Bake at 375°F for 8 to 10 minutes.
