Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 1 unbeaten egg
  • apples or other fruit
  • 1/2 cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Mix flour, 1 teaspoon of sugar, salt, baking powder, and nutmeg in a bowl.
  2. Add milk, oil, and unbeaten egg; beat well until smooth.
  3. Arrange sliced fruit in a greased baking pan.
  4. Pour the batter mixture over the fruit evenly.
  5. Sprinkle 1/2 cup of sugar and cinnamon over the top.
  6. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 25 to 30 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
