Ingredients

  • 3 tsp Knox gelatine
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 c sugar
  • dash salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 pt whipped cream
  • graham cracker crust

Instructions

  1. Soak 3 teaspoons of Knox gelatine in 1/4 cup of milk for 5 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 cup of milk in a double boiler until warm.
  3. Add the soaked gelatine mixture to the heated milk and stir until dissolved.
  4. Stir in 2 egg yolks, 1 cup sugar, a dash of salt, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract.
  5. Cook the mixture until it thickens, then remove from heat and allow to cool.
  6. Once cooled, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and whipped cream.
  7. Pour the filling into a graham cracker crust and top with grated sweet chocolate.
  8. Refrigerate until set, about 2-3 hours.
