Ingredients

  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 Tbsp. shortening
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. pepper
  • 1 Tbsp. mustard
  • 1 Tbsp. ketchup
  • 16 oz. cans pork and beans

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet; sprinkle with salt and pepper, using shortening. When beef is cooked, drain off excess fat.
  2. Add mustard, ketchup, and canned pork and beans to the skillet.
  3. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
  4. Simmer the mixture for 10 to 20 minutes to heat through and meld flavors.
  5. Serve hot, optionally on hamburger buns. Can be frozen for later use.
