Tips & Substitutions

For a twist, try substituting smoked sausage for wieners to enhance the flavor. You can also use fresh pineapple if you prefer. If you're short on time, canned green peppers can work instead of fresh. Be sure to sauté the vegetables until they are tender for the best flavor blend. This dish pairs wonderfully with sides like Crispy Peas Salad.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this dish straight from the oven, garnished with the reserved pineapple rings for a pop of color. It pairs well with a simple green salad or cornbread. For a heartier meal, consider serving alongside Grandma'S Pork Chops And Beans. This dish is perfect for family gatherings or potlucks.

Storage & Reheating

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, place in a microwave-safe dish and cover to retain moisture, heating in 1-minute intervals until warmed through. Alternatively, you can reheat in the oven at 350°F until hot, which helps maintain the casserole's texture.
