Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine
  • 2 squares unsweetened melted chocolate
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/3 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • peanut halves

Instructions

  1. Cream together sugar and margarine.
  2. Blend in melted chocolate, vanilla, and eggs, one at a time.
  3. Sift in flour, baking powder, and salt alternately with milk.
  4. Blend well until the dough is smooth.
  5. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
  6. Insert about halfway into the fattest side of each cookie, placing 4 peanut halves to resemble claws.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 10 to 12 minutes until cookies are set.
