Ingredients

  • 1 lb. lean beef
  • 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1 tsp. sugar
  • 1/4 tsp. Accent
  • 2 to 3 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. dry sherry
  • 2 to 3 medium green peppers
  • 4 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 clove garlic

Instructions

  1. Cut beef across the grain into slices about 2 inches long and 1/4 inch thick.
  2. Combine cornstarch, sugar, and Accent; blend with soy sauce and sherry.
  3. Mix with beef; set aside.
  4. Cut green peppers into 1 1/2-inch slices.
  5. Pour 2 tablespoons oil into a skillet.
  6. Set over high heat; add salt, then peppers.
  7. Stir constantly until peppers turn darker green, about 1 minute. Remove peppers, leaving oil in skillet.
  8. Add remaining oil to the skillet with crushed garlic; stir in beef mixture and cook, turning constantly, about 2 minutes.
  9. Add green peppers; mix well and serve.
