Ingredients

  • 4 oz. thin spaghetti
  • 1 Tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 lb. ground beef
  • 1/2 lb. ground pork
  • 1/3 c. chopped onion
  • 1/2 c. green peppers, chopped
  • 1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
  • 1 (7 oz.) bottle 7-Up or lemon lime
  • 1/2 c. catsup or chili sauce
  • 1/4 tsp. thyme
  • 1 (4 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained
  • 1 lb. can mixed chop suey vegetables, drained
  • 1 1/2 tsp. salt

Instructions

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions and heat oil in a large skillet.
  2. Add ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, and chopped green peppers to the skillet.
  3. Cook on medium heat for 10 minutes or until the meat is browned and vegetables are slightly soft.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, 7-Up, catsup or chili sauce, and thyme.
  5. Add sliced mushrooms, drained chop suey vegetables, and salt.
  6. Simmer the mixture for 10 minutes before serving.
