Ingredients

  • 1 beef brisket
  • 1 package Lipton onion soup mix
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 bottle Heinz chili sauce
  • 1 jar guava jelly
  • 1 can mushrooms with juice

Instructions

  1. Place the beef brisket on a large piece of heavy-duty foil.
  2. Sprinkle the Lipton onion soup mix over the meat and add water.
  3. Fold up the sides of the foil to cover the brisket tightly.
  4. Place the foil-wrapped brisket on a flat pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 2 1/2 hours.
  5. Remove the foil, cool slightly, and slice the brisket.
  6. Put the sliced beef in a casserole dish with the juices from cooking.
  7. Pour Heinz chili sauce, guava jelly, and canned mushrooms with their juice over the beef.
  8. Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
