- Place the beef brisket on a large piece of heavy-duty foil.
- Sprinkle the Lipton onion soup mix over the meat and add water.
- Fold up the sides of the foil to cover the brisket tightly.
- Place the foil-wrapped brisket on a flat pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 2 1/2 hours.
- Remove the foil, cool slightly, and slice the brisket.
- Put the sliced beef in a casserole dish with the juices from cooking.
- Pour Heinz chili sauce, guava jelly, and canned mushrooms with their juice over the beef.
- Bake uncovered for an additional 30 minutes.
