Ingredients

  • 4 c. beef broth or chicken broth
  • 3 Tbsp. cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1/2 tsp. dry thyme
  • 1/4 tsp. black pepper

Instructions

  1. Bring the broth to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  2. Boil until reduced by one third volume, approximately 10 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water.
  4. Gradually add the cornstarch mixture to the hot broth, stirring constantly.
  5. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly for 5 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Add the dry thyme and black pepper.
  7. Stir to mix and serve.
