Beef Roladen features tender beef wrapped around flavorful bacon, pickles, and onions, slow-cooked to perfection. A hearty German-inspired dish perfect for family dinners or special occasions.

Ingredients

  • 2 lb. beef top round
  • mustard
  • bacon
  • dill pickles
  • diced onions

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef into strips.
  2. Spread mustard on each beef strip.
  3. Lay a slice of bacon on top of each strip.
  4. Cut the dill pickles in half lengthwise and place one half on the bacon.
  5. Sprinkle 2 teaspoons of diced onions on top.
  6. Roll up the beef strips and secure with 2 to 3 toothpicks.
  7. Brown the rolled beef in oil on all sides.
  8. Place the beef rolls into a roasting pan and add 1 cup of water.
  9. Cover the pan and cook in a 200°F oven for 4 to 6 hours.
  10. Thicken the gravy with a little flour, if desired.
  11. Serve with potatoes or noodles.
